Backlinks are incoming links to your website. Google and other search engines use backlinks as a major indicator of your websites relevance, importance, and popularity. Backlinks can also be divided in to DoFollow and NoFollow. A DoFollow backlink is followed by a spider and gives the site a ‘vote’ of popularity. A while a NoFollow backlinkg may be traced but no ‘vote’ of popularity is given.
The short of it is DoFollow backlinks from High Page Rank sites are extremely valuable.
