Be Greedy! Get sitewide DoFollow backlinks!
As you know dofollow links are better than nofollow links. But do you know that a site wide backlink is better than a single comment backlink?
Sitewide backlinks typically are very difficult to obtain and are often purchased for handsome sum of money on blogs.
Well here is a nice simple trick to earn site wide backlinks without paying for them.
Look for blogs with the Top Commenter plugin. This plugin tracks the top 10 commenters each month. The plugin posts their name and backlink on every page of the blog. The idea of the plugin is to encourage and reward faithful readers and commenters.
You’d be surprised that in today’s spam and run world of blogs that some popular blogs may only require 3 or 4 comments to crack the top 10.
Generally you can simply include: +”top commenter” to any search engine query and quickly find these blogs but I thought I’d start everyone off with a little starter list:

The top commenter is a good tool if you find a site you genuinely like. I was a top commenter on a site for a while before it went down. Its too much work to try to do it just for links though. Well, in my opinion.
It’s pretty easy actually to get on a the top ten of a top commentators plugin feature – you can usually do it with just a few comments.

I’ve added DoFollow Search Engine to my list for review – probably sometime next month.
I think it would be pretty easy as well. Since a lot of times people will only comment once, and then leave. So if you make like four comments on four different articles, your pretty much already in the top 10.
It shouldn’t be too hard to do that on multiple websites. At least just to do it once. Constantly would take too much time.

You are onto something here. I for one would pay for a neat list of do follow blogs that was updated frequently and not too widely available. The top commentator plugin was a big hit but fell from grace starting around 5 months ago because of the huge percentage of spammers it attracted. You are right though with the site wide links… they get a link back for every post and comment and they all show in google web master tools. Cheers
Interesting thought about top commentator plugin becoming less popular. I don’t have any data one way or the other but it still is very popular so this technique will work. Blog owners that complain about spam kinda blows my mind. Akismet filters all the spam and all I have to do is read and respond to the real responses. Seems simple to me!
Very excellent tip. I’ve copied the list of sample sites (and all of your post). When I saw your title I thought “yah, sure”. But I agree it is a super plan. With nothing to lose and everything to gain. I might even add a plugin to one of my blogs to see if I get more traffic.
